The power of being held

We recognise the nature of our being through the reflection another gives us.

We as little ones are held in the presence of others. We experience the caregivers and others as part of our field, not as something separate from us. If the attunement, resonance and appropriate responsiveness are good enough, we learn that the field we are in is trustworthy, even if our needs as children are sometimes not met.

When another is simply present, non-judgmental, connected to us as being to being, we feel embraced in the depth of our being. This can activate our very early wounds and heal them at the same time.

We recognise the nature of our being through the reflection another gives us. This is what we are seeking all our lives. We are searching for another who sees, hears and feels us and whom we see, hear and feel. Moreover, this is how we enter the mystery of the present moment.
